Our priority is to explain financial mechanics accurately and make the limits of each example clear. The Options Guide does not claim that a strategy is suitable for every reader.

Evidence and calculations

We use primary references from OCC and the Options Industry Council, Cboe, CME, SEC, CFTC and FINRA where relevant. Sources support specific claims; inclusion does not imply that those organizations reviewed or endorsed this site. Stock-option strategy definitions are shared between articles and the Strategy Finder, with automated expiration-payoff checks.

Transparent scope

We separate theoretical payoff from market valuation, margin and assignment risk. Examples state relevant assumptions. We do not invent authors, qualifications, licenses or reviewers, and automated checks are not a substitute for contract-specific judgment.

Corrections and review

Material corrections take priority over cosmetic changes. See the correction policy, source methodology and review policy.
