American-Style Option
An American-Style option is an option which can be exercised at any time before expiration. This is different from European-Style options which can only be exercised on expiration date. Hence, American-Style options are at least as valuable than European-Style options. Currently, all of the stock options traded in the marketplaces are American-Style.
